The Therapy Shack is mainly staffed by a registered social worker. In collaboration with a multi-professional team and external organizations, the social worker provides therapeutic services and material assistance to learners and their primary caregivers from a holistic approach.
Assistance and support systems are implemented in such a way that a favourable environment is created where the learner can make optimal use of the given educational opportunity in the absence of emotional, intellectual, socio-economic and social barriers. This is achieved mainly through the implementation of social work principles and methods within the educational system.
